About the Webinar
Sleep-disordered breathing is a serious and often undiagnosed condition that can lead to cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline, mood disorders, and early mortality. Dental providers are frequently the first to notice the signs.
Bruxism, erosion, dry mouth, and restoration failure are all indicators that disrupted sleep may be affecting a patient’s health. These signs often present long before a formal diagnosis is made.
This course will help providers recognize the impact of disordered sleep on oral and systemic health. It will also cover the role of xerostomia in sleep-related conditions and how dry mouth can interfere with patient compliance, especially with CPAP and oral appliance therapy.
Attendees will leave with a practical screening protocol and a better understanding of how to intervene at the chair to support early identification, patient comfort, and long-term success.
About the Presenter
Dr. Dar Radfar
In 2009, Dr. Dar Radfar had unfortunate experience of falling asleep at the wheel and crashing his car into a tree. After being tested for Sleep Apnea, he was diagnosed with mild apnea, which causes daytime sleepiness along with many medical conditions that affect the heart and whole body. He was given a CPAP oxygen machine which he could not tolerate. In 2010, when the American Medical Association approved an oral appliance for the treatment of Sleep Apnea, Dr. Radfar jumped at the opportunity and made one for himself which he wears every night.
He has since helped thousands of patients with Snoring and Sleep Apnea issues. His formulation of Rad ZZZ not only helps to lower Sleep Apnea and Snoring, it also helps one fall asleep and stay asleep.
